Many fans feel that David Nutter was possibly the secret behind the magic that grabbed out hearts in Season 1.  He once stated that he had enough material before the show ever aired to fill at least 5 seasons!  He is known for strong character development and continuity of storyline.  He left the production team, along with Thania St. John, at the end of Season 1 after WB issued orders for more scifi in the show and more attention be paid to the alien characters.  No one knows for sure what the exact reason for his departure was, but it was rumored that these directives went against his “vision” for the show and he wanted no part of it.  True or not, network politics were thought to be involved in some way.  Many fans would give anything to find out what his “vision” for the show was and if it truly differed from what eventually occurred. 

The entire cast has spoken highly of working with David Nutter.  Brendan specifically mentioned him with great admiration during the SciFi Premiere Party in January 2003.  It is believed that David’s involvement in any possible Roswell movie may play a big part in convincing many of the original cast members to reprise their roles on the big screen! 

During a Scifi Convention in the UK in May 2003, Thannette, a friend of the RoswellMovie.net staff, got to visit with David Nutter.  She reports that he was very interested and would LOVE to do a Roswell movie!  He called Roswell his “first love”, and said that it is still near to his heart.  Thannette gave him a RoswellMovie.net coffee mug and, the very next day, he told her how impressed he was with the site.  He had been interested enough to visit the site the same day that Thannette first mentioned it to him! 

Brendan’s manager said the entire cast would want the show to continue if it had remained as it was during Season 1 (we suppose this included the production politics as well as the continuity of storyline).  David Nutter was a HUGE part of Season1.  And HE wants to do a Roswell Movie!
