The rumors are that Colin did not want to leave Roswell.  It has been said that he tried to work out a way to be in the movie, “Orange County”, and also remain involved in Roswell. 

Whether this is true or not, he did return for a brief time in Season 3, and fans loved him as always.  He has never said anything negative about the show and has been seen having fun with former cast members at various Hollywood functions.  A young man with a promising career in films, we would hope that he could be included in a well-written Roswell script!
